How To Get Started With Poshmark

When I first signed up for Poshmark, I thought I would sell items from my own closet.  I felt there wasn’t much more to it than that. I would make some extra cash from items I already had and then use the money to buy more for myself.  I never thought it would become more than that. Once I started and items began selling, I got the idea that I would locate more items outside of my home to sell.  So, I started looking at some of my local stores. While out and about, I would check in Poshmark to see if similar items had sold and the price they sold at, with that information, I decided on whether I would buy the items or not.  Some of the items brought in more of a profit than others. Some of the items sat in my closet for a longer period of time, but then sold and some of them are still waiting in my closet. When I purchase items, I tend to focus on pieces that are my size, so that if they don’t sell, they can become mine.

How do you get started in Poshmark?

First, you have to sign up!
Use the code ENCHANTEDBLISS to get $5 off your first order!
Install the free app here!

Next, scope out those gorgeous items.  This will allow you to become more familiar with the items allowed.  There are some rules! Meaning, the application only allows fashion items (clothing, bags, and accessories).  They do not allow perfumes, lotions, home goods or anything like that (if you want to sell those items, check out Mercari and Marketplace on Facebook).  You must have a compliant closet!

While you are searching through the application, start following some of your favorite closets.  They will come in handy later on. Another great idea is to join some sharing groups on Facebook.  People will share your items, in return you share their items. It’s a great way to get more eyes on your closet.

After you have done the above tasks, locate some items you would like to place in your closet.  Pick a nice background and begin taking pictures. You can do all of that in the application. Look for the camera icon that says Sell.  Include as many descriptors as possible with measurements, because people will ask and you want to be ready.  You don’t want to be out of town and have someone ask you about the length of one of your listings. It’s so much easier taking measurements when you already have the items out.

Make sure you are following other closets.  On Poshmark, that is super important! Other individuals will follow you and your new inventory will be shown in their feed.  They will then share your items, and it is your job to return the favor.

You can always check back here for additional information.  And you always have the option to find supportive groups on Facebook.  They have been super helpful for me! I absolutely love Poshmark; I wouldn't be writing this post if I didn't.

What are your thoughts?  Want to get started?
